Magnolia Motor Speedway Hosts 602 Sportsman World Championship Memorial Day Weekend

COLUMBUS, Miss. (04/28/22) – Magnolia Motor Speedway hosts the 2022 edition of the 602 Sportsman World Championship paying $3,000-to-win / $300-to-start on Friday-Sunday, May 27-29..

Joining the action will be the Trak-Star Street Stocks, The Eaton Clinic Modifieds, William Wells Three Star Tire and Auto Factory Stocks and The Eaton Clinic Hot Shots. The divisions will run complete shows on Saturday and Sunday.

The Twin River Auto Sales Crate Late Models will contest a complete program on Sunday only.

On Friday night, May 27 an Open Practice will be held 7-10pm CST for all classes.

On Saturday, May 28 the Sportsman will qualify followed by the division’s heat races, which pay $400-to-win. The heats will also award CRUSA points. Joining the program will be complete programs for the Trak-Star Street Stocks ($600-to-win), The Eaton Clinic Modifieds ($400-to-win), Williams Wells Three Star Tire and Auto Factory Stock ($400-to-win) and The Eaton Clinic Hot Shots (payout based on car count).

On Sunday, May 29 the Sportsman World Championship will run B-Mains and a $3,000-to-win, 50-lap finale. Additionally complete shows will be held for the Trak Star Crate Late Models ($1,000-to-win), Murphy Towing Street Stocks ($700-to-win), The Eaton Clinic Modifieds ($600-to-win), Williams Wells Three Star Tire and Auto Factory Stock ($500-to-win), and The Eaton Clinic Hot Shots (payout based on car count).

Drivers Meeting is at 6:00pm Saturday and Sunday with racing action to follow.

Saturday ,May 28 Sportsman Will Qualify and Run Heat Races.
Sportsman Heat Races will be CRUSA Point Races. HEATS 1- $400, 2- $200, 3- $175, 4- $125, 5- $100, 6- $90, 7- $80, 8- $70, 9- $60, 10-20 $50. (Number of Heats will be determined by car count.)

Sunday, May 29 Sportsman Will Run B-Mains and 50-Lap Feature.
Sunday 1- $3,000, 2- $1,500, 3- $1,000, 4- $900, 5- $800, 6- $700, 7- $600, 8- $575, 9- $550, 10- $525, 11- $500, 12- $475, 13- $450, 14- $425, 15- $400, 16- $375, 17- $350, 18- $325, 19-26 $300.
(Starting 26 Cars, 25th and 26th Place will be Provisionals, 25th Highest Magnolia Points 2021 and 26th Lucky Dog Draw).

602 Sportsman: If more than 60 Cars a Non-Qualifier Race will be run on Sunday, paying $500-to-win
(Winner can choose to forfeit the winnings and start feature).

The early entry fee for the weekend is $100, Plus $10 CRUSA Points Saturday and Transponder Fee. Sportsman competitors have until Saturday, May 21 to file an early entry for the event. After this date, the entry fee will be $150, Plus $10 CRUSA Points Saturday and Transponder Fee. Call Johnny Stokes 662-574-2572 to pre-enter.
